The Society is an amateur society giving performances of choral and orchestral music.    It was founded in 1884, and is one of the oldest choral and orchestral societies in England.

The Society usually mounts three concerts a year during the season which goes from September to June.    In recent  years the pattern has been established of including both choral and orchestral elements in each concert, always seeking to widen the repertoire.

Rehearsals are held weekly at The Stourbridge Day Centre, Mere Road, Norton, Stourbridge, where there is ample parking.   The orchestra meets on Monday, the choir on Tuesday evenings. Both at 7:30pm.

Note: The society has one more orchestral rehearsal (14th July) and then breaks for the summer. The AGM is on 2nd September and normal rehearsals begin the following week.

The choir welcomes new more singers in all voices. The orchestra currently has vacancies for horns, oboes, bassoons and strings.  If you sing or play an instrument and live in the Black Country or anywhere within easy travelling distance of Stourbridge, please come and visit us.   No auditions are required for singers or players.

The membership covers all age groups and the Society extends a particular welcome to younger musicians and singers who have recently left school or further education, and would like to continue their practice and performance of choral and orchestral works in relaxed and sociable company.

The society also has a string quartet available for weddings, parties etc.
